From in-home or virtual postpartum visits to breastfeeding guidance and newborn care, our midwives are here to ensure a smooth and positive experience. We also specialize in supporting families facing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) through partnerships like the Collingwood Well Baby Clinic, offering counseling, therapy, and group support to promote emotional well-being. With accessible services designed to meet your unique needs, The MINT Program is committed to helping you and your family thrive during this special time.

Access to Beyfortus

The MINT Program is pleased to announce that we can now provide Beyfortus (nirsevimab) to eligible infants. This protection is available for babies born after April 1, 2025 who are unable to access Beyfortus through their primary care provider.

Why is this important?
RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a very common and highly contagious respiratory infection. While many older children and adults experience it like a cold, RSV can cause serious illness in babies, leading to bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and sometimes hospitalization.

What is Beyfortus?
Beyfortus is a monoclonal antibody designed to provide babies with passive immunity against RSV. Unlike a vaccine, which helps the body build its own antibodies over time, Beyfortus delivers immediate protection that lasts through the RSV season. This is especially valuable for infants who are too young to be vaccinated or at higher risk of complications.

Families whose infants meet the criteria are invited to contact the MINT Program directly to book an appointment and learn more about this important preventative option.

What Is Behavioural Activation?

Behavioural Activation is a structured, evidence-based therapy that supports people in reconnecting with activities that reflect their values and bring a sense of purpose. By gradually increasing engagement in meaningful routines, many individuals experience a reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety. Research—including the SUMMIT Trial—shows that trained nurses, midwives, and doulas can deliver this therapy just as effectively as mental health specialists.

Why Consider Behavioural Activation?

✔ Evidence-Backed Results – Most people notice improvement in mood and functioning within 6–8 sessions.
✔ Improved Access – Delivered by trained providers, helping reduce wait times for traditional mental health services.
✔ Flexible Delivery – Offered virtually or in person to fit your needs.
✔ Non-Medication Option – A supportive choice for those who prefer therapy-based approaches during pregnancy and postpartum.
✔ Zero Cost – All sessions are free.

Who Is It For?

Behavioural Activation is ideal for pregnant or postpartum individuals experiencing low mood, anxiety, or a sense of being overwhelmed. Our providers offer a warm, structured approach that helps you take manageable steps toward feeling more like yourself.

Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding offers important health benefits for both you and your baby—right from the start and well into the future. While it's natural, it’s not always easy—and that’s where we come in.

Prenatally, we offer a free virtual workshop to learn all about breastfeeding and have your questions answered by an experienced midwife.  See the workshops section of our website to register for an upcoming date.

In the postpartum, our team of midwives with extensive lactation education can offer personalized guidance and support along your feeding journey. We’re here for you and your family every day of the week. Call or email to book an appointment.

Normal Newborn Care

Our clinic offers care and support for well babies and their families during the critical early weeks of life—from birth up until 8 weeks postpartum. This is a time of rapid growth and change, and we’re here to help you navigate it with confidence.

We provide comprehensive newborn and postpartum support.  Whether breastfeeding is going smoothly or you're facing challenges, we’re here to work alongside you and your baby to ensure you both get the best possible start.

Our team is also here for families who may not yet have a family doctor or nurse practitioner. We can bridge that gap, offering compassionate, skilled care when you need it most. Appointments are available seven days a week—send us an email or call to book a visit.

Postpartum Care

After birth, we offer postpartum visits to ensure you and your baby are healthy and adjusting well. This includes breastfeeding support, physical recovery, emotional support, and newborn care guidance.

After Baby (Mood Disorder Support)

At the MINT Program, we understand the profound impact that perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) can have on new parents and families. We’ve partnered with the Collingwood Well Baby Clinic to provide comprehensive support services to the New Tecumseth area.

Accessible services can all be accessed virtually or in-person and include:

Access to Behavioural Activation Therapy: Evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals take small, manageable steps to re-engage in activities and routines, fostering a sense of achievement and improving overall well-being.

Virtual Group Support: Connect with others who are going through similar experiences in a group setting. Our facilitated group sessions offer mutual support, shared learning, and a sense of community, helping you feel understood and supported.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or general emotional distress during pregnancy or after childbirth, our services are here to support your mental health and well-being. You are not alone, and with the right support, you can feel better and thrive as you navigate this important life transition.
